The odometer currently shows 23,975 miles. From the included records and discussion with the previous owner, I believe it to be correct at 123,975 miles. The major cosmetic and mechanical restoration appears to have occurred at the 97,000 miles mark and was completed during the summer of 1996. At that time, the included paperwork indicates the transmission was upgraded from a 4-speed to a 5-speed unit from a later model E21 320i. The engine was rebuilt and rebored approximately 27,000 miles ago receiving new pistons, rings, bearings, seals, timing chain, oil pump and water pump. Reseated valves, head machined, new valve guides and valve seals, new injectors, distributor, wiring and coil.

The paint is very nice, re-sprayed in Agave Green during the restoration – it has held up well. I recently had the entire car wet sanded and it now looks amazing. It is clean, smooth, and free of any scratches. I had few dents taken out of the body, which is now very nice. Some of the chrome trim on the body is new, and most of the trim is very presentable. The chrome bumpers are great in most areas; a few spots the chrome plating is worn thin or is slightly pitted. There is actually a lot of chrome on this car and most of it is very nice. The rear brakes are from a later 320i – larger than normal spec. 2002. The previous owner replaced the non-working tii dash clock with an electric oil pressure gauge. It functions, but is not the correct set up and should be replaced with the proper clock. I have been looking for one on eBay, but nothing has come available to date.

I purchased the vehicle from the previous 11 year owner in downtown San Francisco. The mechanical and maintenance receipts from this owner total more than $18,000; including some very expensive items like the steering box and the nice to have cold start / throttle valve. The car does not leak oil and there is no rust. It appears to have been very well take care of and garaged while in San Francisco. If the car needed anything, it got it.

I had a new tan carpet kit installed to match the Tan Skai upholstery. The seats, door panels and headliner were cleaned and are all in very nice condition. Overall, the interior is very nice and correct showing signs of restoration and the proper patina for the age of the car. The tires are new, Yokohama 195/60HR14’s mounted on 14″ E30 OEM Bottle cap wheels from the later BMW 325i. The car rides very smooth, straight and true.

This is a very happy car. The engine pulls very strong (like a freight train), and it sounds great. The 5-speed shifts well, the car steers properly and it stops straight. The heater and rear defroster work, all lights work, including the German Hella driving lights. The sunroof opens and closes nicely with a new sunroof seal, and the rubber door seals are all in good condition. The side wing windows open and close nicely and the car does not squeak or rattle. All the glass is in good shape. The engine bay and trunk are nice and clean. domain maps . The car comes with the spare tire, jack, tools, owners manual / books and records.

Both cosmetically and mechanically this car is very hard to fault and would be very difficult to duplicate in this condition. I short, this is a very well sorted and nicely restored 1972 2002 tii Roundie. This is a car you can be proud of…It can be enjoyed and driven regularly, and yet it does not break the bank. As quality sports cars go, this car is a tremendous value at $16,500.

I little bit about me: As a small dealer, I only purchase cars I love and I buy the best I can find. I am a little bit of a fix-it-artist. I like to push the repair and restoration process to the next level. In the process I learn some history about the make and model, I read everything I can find – and of course I exercise the cars prior to sale. Someone has to do it!
